International law firm Dorsey & Whitney LLP announced today that it continues to add exceptional, senior talent in its Minneapolis and Dallas offices. Kevin Dooley today joins the Firm as Senior Counsel in Minneapolis, and Stuart Chasanoff, Melissa Hicks Hutchison, and Michael Lii join the Firm as Of Counsel in Dallas.

All four of these experienced lawyers practiced most recently with the Schiff Hardin law firm and were part of the team that also included new Dorsey partners Larry Makel, Stan Mayo, Gina Betts, Jason DuVall and Jamie Whatley, who are opening Dorsey's new office in Dallas. Seven associates from Schiff Hardin have also joined Dorsey's new Dallas office, bringing Dorsey's lawyer count in Dallas to 15.

Kevin Dooley utilizes his extensive experiene in the Twin (News - Alert) Cities region as a trusted advisor in large law firm practice and as a former general counsel in the private equity industry to advise institutional providers of debt and equity capital in connection with private middle-market mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and recapitalizations. He has particularly deep experience in representing mezzanine debt funds. Mr. Dooley also provides general corporate advice to private business owners.



Stuart Chasanoff brings over two decades of combined experience in major, multinational law firms and as in-house counsel to FTSE-100, Fortune 25 and small public companies, private companies, family offices and investment management firms to his practice. He focuses primarily on representing a wide range of institutional investors in fund formation, acquisitions, growth and exit transactions, control and minority equity investments and all manner of domestic and cross-border mergers, acquisitions and divestitures.

Melissa Hicks Hutchison counsels clients on corporate finance and general corporate matters, focusing on financial institution, private equity fund, mezzanine fund, and agented bank representation. Specifically, she advises clients in connection with commercial loan transactions, subordinated debt transactions, asset-based lending, and mezzanine and equity financing and restructurings.


Michael Lii represents clients in commercial finance transactions, with an emphasis on oil and gas transactions, mortgage warehouse loan facilities, commercial loan transactions, subordinated debt transactions, and asset-based lending. He also represents clients in derivative transactions.
