NEW YORK, Feb. 27, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- National Nutrition Month is being recognized on ZubiaLive, the health & wellness live-streaming video community, which has a free, open-access platform for experts to host their own live video broadcasts.

"We were excited by the success of our live-streaming video hosts during February's Heart Month and are now equally optimistic that National Nutrition Month in March will exceed expectations," says Bryan Maher Butvick, the company's founder.

February concludes with notable live broadcasts including one by experts Dr. John D. Carroll, Professor, Medicine-Cardiology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and Bray Patrick-Lake, Director of Stakeholder Engagement, Clinical Trials Transformation Initiative, Duke University, discussing the relationship between cryptogenic stroke and patent foramen ovale (PFO), a common hole in the heart condition.

Also Dr. Sharon Theroux, Director, South Florida Center for Mindfulness, will host a broadcast, "A Mindful Heart." In this 20-minute live-video broadcast she will define what mindfulness is and will practice a brief mindful breathing exercise.

iPhone users can watch these live and recorded video broadcasts by downloading the free "Zubia" app from the App Store: https://appsto.re/us/eJZqdb.i. Desktop users can egister and watch at http://web.ZubiaLive.com.

March is not limited to nutrition-only broadcasts. The Hereditary Neuropathy Foundation (HNF) will be broadcasting live from Washington, D.C. on March 2nd for Rare Disease Week on Capitol Hill. This week brings rare disease community members together to discuss federal legislative issues and to meet other advocates, while sharing their unique stories with legislators.

"We are excited about the opportunity to broadcast live from this annual event," says Allison Moore, the founder and CEO of HNF. "ZubiaLive is the perfect platform to help connect the Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) patient and caregiver community with our important work at Rare Disease Week. We are looking forward to using ZubiaLive to educate the CMT community on HNF's mission to bring patient voices into our patient driven research initiatives for treatments and cures."

Other experts and foundations involved with rare diseases, such as The Marfan Foundation, will continue to use ZubiaLive in order to raise awareness and connect with their communities.

"We encourage all charitable organizations, doctors, hospitals and health & wellness experts to use ZubiaLive to engage with their followers regularly," says Butvick. "ZubiaLive can be used in many ways. Some people want to use our platform to host their own weekly Talk Show."
