THE HILL Hit Record Traffic In January, Beating Politico

WASHINGTON, Feb. 24, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Hill, the publication of record for policy influencers inside and outside Washington, hit all-time record traffic in January with 25 million unique visitors in the U.S., a 135 percent increase year-over-year, according to comScore's Multi-Platform Report that was recently released. That makes The Hill considerably larger than Politico and most other independent political sites.

The Hill's January numbers mark a new pinnacle for the brand, which has seen a significant acceleration in its rate of digital growth since the November election with an increase of 40 percent, while most major political sites including Politico and others are down in traffic during the same period, according to comScore. The Hill is continuing its rapid growth in February according to measured sites for the last 30 days on Quantcast. The Hill significantly beats Politico, Vice, Vox, Daily Caller and all other independent political sites.

"The Hill has always been non-partisan and our explosive growth is a testament to that approach," said James Finkelstein, chairman of Capitol Hill Publishing Corp, which publishes The Hill. "We expect this growth to continue, with February on track to be another record-setting traffic month, making us the fastest-growing political news site in our competitive set."

"The Hill continues to lead with its incisive, balanced political reporting and analysis of key issues unfolding on Capitol Hill and across the country," said Bob Cusack, Editor-in-Chief of The Hill. "During this extraordinary time in our country's political landscape, The Hill is an indispensable resource, providing readers with the most accurate, relevant and unbiased coverage."
