IDG Launches Global IDG Security Day

IDG, the world's largest media, data and marketing services company, announces the launch of its international IDG Security Day on June 21, 2017. A first for the IT security industry, this truly global program will 'follow the sun' by staging 10 events in 10 countries, across three continents, in a single day.

IDG Security Day will be a unique opportunity for IDG's partners to share ideas and develop solutions to the crucial data security challenges the global business community faces in the digital age. Amidst rapidly changing cyber threats and an evolving regulatory environment, IT and business leaders worldwide must focus on technology security and collaboratively determine the best form of defense against ever more sophisticated attacks. In Europe, the introduction of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will impose significant new obligations around the handling of personal data - rules that will have an impact on businesses far beyond the EU.

IDG Security Day comprises both half-day and full-day events with content that addresses the most crucial needs of CSOs and IT security experts in each region. The IDG Security Day agenda includes keynote addresses, workshops, panels, roundtables, Q&A sessions on the following topics:

  • Threat protection/preventing breaches (Incl. patch management, user training, encryption management, multi factor authentication and threat intelligence)
  • Social engineering (Incl. phishing/user awareness)
  • Managing regulation and compliance (Incl. GDPR)
  • Managing the IT/security relationship
  • Managing third-party risk or skills alignment
  • Building credibility with senior leadership
  • The role of CyberInsurance

Recently announced members of the IDG Security Day Advisory Board include:

  • Bob Bragdon, SVP / Publisher, CSO
  • Mark Conelly, CISO at Boston Consulting Group
  • John Gallant Chief Content Officer, IDG US Media
  • Emily Heath Global CISO at AECOM
  • Rudramurthy KG, CISO at Digital India
  • Marlon Molina Director, Computerworld University

Each forum will be moderated by a senior executive from IDG's renowned CSO and CIO brands.
