Comcast Launches Xfinity On Campus at Lynn University

Comcast (News - Alert) today announced the launch of Xfinity On Campus at Lynn University. Xfinity On Campus is a service that lets college students watch live TV and On Demand content on their IP-enabled devices, such as laptops, tablets and smartphones. The addition of this student amenity provides approximately 1,000 students with a service that is currently enjoyed by many students at universities and colleges across the country.

Xfinity On Campus offers nearly 80 live cable channels including every major broadcast network, as well as channels like AMC, Bravo, Comedy Central, ESPN (News - Alert), FX and MTV. The service is available to students living on campus at no additional cost and allows access to thousands of current season TV shows and hit movies via Xfinity On Demand. While off campus, students can use their university credentials to authenticate and access online programming that's part of their subscription via TV Everywhere websites and apps such as WatchESPN and FXNOW.

"Today's college students are on the go and are increasingly viewing content - whether email, class notes, or TV shows - via their iPads, laptops and other mobile devices. The Xfinity On Campus offering has evolved to better support students and provide them with their favorite shows or sporting event in any campus location," said Rafael Visbal, vice president of commercial development for Comcast's Florida Region.

"We are dedicated to not only providing students with a strong educational foundation, but with the best in student life amenitis," said Phil Riordan, vice president for student affairs at Lynn. "Xfinity On Campus provides our student body with the ability to relax and view their favorite shows and movies from virtually anywhere on campus on the device of their choice."

Powered by Comcast's cloud-based X1 Entertainment Operating System, Xfinity On Campus provides an opportunity to introduce college students to the company's next-generation video product.
