Volaris is Part of the Mexican Stock Exchange's Sustainability Composite Index for the Second Consecutive Year

Volaris* (NYSE:VLRS; BMV:VOLAR) the Mexican ULCC serving Mexico, the United States and Central America, was included for a second consecutive year in the Mexican Stock Exchange's (BMV) Sustainability Composite Index (IPC (News - Alert) Sustentable), which reflects Volaris' commitment to maintain its position as a company dedicated to the sustainability of its operations and the Mexican community.

The BMV's Sustainability Composite Index is comprised of only 30 companies committed to social responsibility and sustainability practices, based on the highest standards for ethics and corporate governance. These companies are selected based on three criteria: 1) sustainability grade 2) marketability of the stock and 3) stock rotation ratio in the BMV.

Marcela Sánchez, Corporate Social Responsibility Manager at Volaris, expressed great satisfaction for being part of this Index, which recognizes the social commitment of the Company. "It is inspiring to continue being a part of this group of companies dedicated to the community. This is an achievement for all the members of the Volaris family and it drives us to keep working to generate a positive impact in terms of sustainability and social responsibility in the communities where we operate."

In 2016, Volaris received the ESR award for Social Corporate Responsibility for the seventh year in a row by the Mexican Philanthropy Center (CEMEFI) and the Social Corporate Responsibility Alliance (AliaRSE).

Likewise, Volaris has multiple programs that support and promote social responsibility, among which the Company's #CielitoLimpio campaign stands out, having gathered over MXN $600,000 to compensate for over 9,000 tons of greenhouse effect gases; a joint effort of Volaris and its customers to take care of the environment and generate a positive change in the community. Volaris also launched VFundación, a membership designed to support the air travel of NGOs in Mexico, in order to strengthen their social projects. This initiative is accompanied by a donation of over 500,000 tickets in 2016 for other social responsibility projects.

Volaris' actions regarding sustainability are part of the airline's culture and philosophy, in line with its commitment to the Mexican community. In that sense, Volaris maintains its dedication to continue implementing and boosting actions to create a culture and society committed to sustainability.
