Cardinal Innovations Healthcare CEO Richard Topping Joins Special Olympics North Carolina Board of Directors

The Special Olympics North Carolina (SONC) Board of Directors recently named Cardinal Innovations Healthcare Chief Executive Officer Richard Topping to its 20-member Board of Directors. Topping and six others were elected for their immense dedication and devotion to advancing SONC's mission across North Carolina.

"It is a great honor to join this Board of Directors," said Topping. "We have great admiration for SONC, its athletes and volunteers, and Cardinal Innovations looks forward to expanding our longstanding relationship. Our organizations are both committed to ensuring that special populations have great opportunities for health, wellness and overall success. I look forward to using this opportunity to contribute even further to the Special Olympics mission."

In October 2016, Cardinal Innovations began a new three-year partnership with SONC to provide resources to individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities. The unique initiative promotes the importance of physical health in combination with a strong community support system to achieve long-term health, fitness and nutritional habits.

Along with the wellness partnership, Cardinal Innovations served as a championship sponsor of SONC during 2016.

"Special Olympics North Carolina is pleased to welcome Richard to our board," said Keith L. Fishburne, SONC president and CEO. "His personal contributions, combined with Cardinal's commitment to improving the lives of people with intellectual disabilities, has had a significant impact in our communities throughout NC. We're excited to see how Richard will expand upon these accomplishments during his term."

Topping's three-year term began on Jan. 1, 2017 and continues until Dec. 31, 2019.
