Security Current Releases CISO-Authored Research Report on User Behavior Analytics

TENAFLY, N.J., Dec. 13, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Security Current today announced the release of its CISO-authored research report, CISOs Investigate: User Behavior Analytics (UBA). The first in an ongoing series, this report offers security leaders real-world insights as they make business-driven technology decisions.

CISOs Investigate: UBA includes contributions from security leaders who have deployed or are looking to deploy third-party solutions. The report replaces the ad hoc, often informal and time-consuming processes of personally gathering peer insight. Spanning verticals, the CISO contributors share first-hand use cases and provide guidance to peers.

FirstBank CISO Greg Schaffer served as the lead author.

CISO contributors include:
Actian Corporation CISO David W. Rooker
Barclays Group CSO Troels Oerting
Barclays Group Security Function CIO Elena Kvochko
GE Capital Americas CISO James Beeson
IBM Cloud & SaaS Global CISO David Cass
Levi Strauss & Company CISO Colin Anderson
MIAX Options CSO John Masserini
RWJBarnabas Health CISO Hussein Syed
Surescripts Former CISO Paul Calatayud

The report includes an overview of the technology, staffing implications, recommendations for selling UBA to the C-Suite and possible objectins. It also features a market assessment based on responses to a Request for Information (RFI) submitted by eight vendors. Developed by CISOs, the RFIs, which are included in the report, highlight the most important technology aspects of the solutions.

To have qualified, a solution must transcend traditional log monitoring and reporting and focus on user and entity activities beyond network elements. UBA vendors were invited to complete RFIs. There was no cost to participate.

"CISOs Investigate: UBA is unlike other security research reports. Written by CISOs for our CISO peers, its core components provide a thorough assessment of UBA technology and the market, while use cases highlight the unique considerations across multiple industry verticals. Security leaders will find this report to be a peer-driven buyer's guide that provides unmatched value," lead writer Schaffer said.

The report is available for download at www.securitycurrent.com/en/cisos_investigate/user-behavior-analytics. It is also being distributed by Platinum Sponsor Securonix; Gold Sponsors LogRhythm, Sqrrl and Varonis; and Silver Sponsor Exabeam.
