Emerging Marketplace in South China's Environmental Industry: Success of IE expo Events Again Underlines Its Leading Position in Asia


IE expo Guangzhou 2016 concluded with great success on November 26 at the China Import and Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou, China. As a Southern China version of IE expo China, Asia's most influential trade fair for environmental technologies, IE expo Guangzhou expanded its exhibition area to 19,000 square meters and set new records by attracting 301 exhibitors from 15 countries and regions, as well as 19,923 professional visitors from 47 countries and regions - a 32% increase compared to 2015.

IE expo Guangzhou 2016 focused on the display of water, waste, air and soil products and solutions, and proved itself as an effective platform for environmental sector players in Southern China, especially in the Pan Pearl River Delta area. It gathered 16 environment-related associations from China's southern provinces and autonomous regions, such as Guangdong, Guangxi and Hunan, while most of the domestic professional visitors were also from thee regions.



Besides, the number of international visitors jumped by 150% year-on-year, mainly coming from Vietnam, Korea and Hong Kong, etc. The Singaporean and Korean exhibitor delegations also held two B2B business matching meetings, with the latter reaching deals amounting to $31,500,000.

In addition, IE expo Guangzhou was held in conjunction with the waste management trade show WasteMET Asia 2016, creating synergies and business opportunities in the environmental sector for both exhibitors and visitors.


Jiang Gang, General Manager of Messe Muenchen Zhongmao, said, "The success of IE expo Guangzhou 2016 shows the increasing demand in environmental protection in Southern China, which urgently requires a high-quality platform to seek new products and technologies."

IE expo China 2017 and IE expo Guangzhou 2017 will take place on May 4-6 and September 20-22, 2017, respectively. Seeing a great boost in numbers of exhibitors (+20%) and visitors (+5%), an increase in exhibition space (+20%), as well as a higher-than-ever demand for solutions and technologies in water, waste water, air and soil management across Asia in the 2016 edition, IE expo China will retain its momentum in 2017, of which over 60% of the booths are sold.
