Film on Future of California Water Debuts at Statewide Forum


ANAHEIM, Calif., Dec. 5, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Before an audience of key California water leaders, "The New Wave," a short film produced by award-winning strategic communications firm CV Strategies, in partnership with the Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA), premiered Thursday, December 1st at the ACWA Fall Conference in Anaheim.

"The New Wave" illuminates the challenges California's water industry faces with an imminent wave of looming retirements, and highlights innovative agencies responding to one of water's most pressing issues. The film showcases next-generation success stories from Northern California, to the Central Valley and to Southern California, painting a geographically diverse picture to fully depict the evolution of one of California's most essential industries.

The short film features interviews with leaders of the largest water agencies in the state, as well as from smaller retail and rural agencies. It also includes perspective from key academic institutions, altering curriculum to respond to the water industry's growing needs. It also spotlights several interns who aim to improve California's water reliability, sustainability, efficiency and regulation.

"The New Wave" kicked off a statewide forum at the ACWA Conference focused around water agencies' efforts to recruit and retain the next generation of water employees.
