Verodin Adds Prominent Security Names to Leadership Team

Verodin, the software firm defining Instrumented Security™, today announced significant additions to its executive team. Joining Verodin are Andrew Barnett, Vice President of Business Development; Brian Contos, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Vice President of Security Strategy; and Kurt Stammberger, Senior Vice President of Market Development. Verodin's newest executives arrive on the heels of a closely watched Q2 launch - after two years in stealth - and as the company quickly amasses an impressive list of Fortune 500 customers.

"Andrew, Brian and Kurt have experience building some of the industry's most innovative companies and recognizable brands," said Verodin CEO Christopher Key. "Their strategic insight and execution know-how will be fantastic assets for the Verodin team."

Andrew Barnett joins Verodin as Vice President of Business Development, leading efforts in strategic partnerships, channels and strategy in new and existing markets. Beginning his career building networks for companies like McKesson and News Corp, Andrew has since held several technical and strategic sales roles at vendors such as Accuvant and Bromium. Most recently, Andrew served as Senior Director of Portfolio Programs at Optiv, where he served as a technical advisor for M&A activities and co-developed security strategies for The Blackstone Group and its investment portfolio.

A noted security entrepreneur, advisor and author, Brian Contos will oversee strategy for leveraging Verodin's IP assets and customers, and lead the company's overall security and risk-management vision. After beginning his security career at the U.S. Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), Brian started building security startups and taking multiple companies through successful IPOs and acquisitions, including Riptech, ArcSight, Imperva, McAfee and Solera (News - Alert) Networks. He is a board advisor to Appdome, Cylance and Securonix, a Distinguished Fellow with the Ponemon Institute and a frequent blogger for CSO magazine.

Verodin's new Senior Vice President of Market Development, Kurt Stammberger, CISSP, PMC, is best known as the "father of the RSA (News - Alert) Conference," the world's largest gathering of computer security professionals. A well-known technology commentator and strategist, Stammberger has kicked-off some of the most disruptive brands in cybersecurity. In addition to helping launch RSA and RSA spinoff VeriSign, Stammberger held leadership positions at Internet of Things (IoT) security pioneer Mocana and ProofSpace, one of the early innovators in trusted timestamping for high-speed-trading in the financial markets. As CEO of the award-winning B2B marketing agency Coda Creative in San Francisco, his clients included IBM, Qualys (News - Alert), Bechtel, Fortinet, the Stanford University Graduate School of Business and Deloitte & Touche, among others.

Verodin directly attacks security assumptions and enables companies to prove and mature their security posture with empirical data. Verodin helps enterprise customers understand how their people, processes and technologies will respond to any given attack - ahead of time.

Enterprise Management Associates (EMA (News - Alert)) named Verodin a "Vendor to Watch" and Momentum Partners lists Verodin on their closely followed "Watch List" of disruptive security startups. Verodin is backed by the Blackstone Group, Cisco Investments, Rally Ventures and Crosslink Capital.
