Data-Driven Job Startup, Workey, Launches After Successful Beta to Help People Discover Their Next Career Move

NEW YORK, Nov. 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Workey, the only job platform that guides tech candidates and helps them navigate the next step in their career paths through its data-science and machine-learning algorithms, today announced the launch of its highly successful platform in the United States. Workey's algorithm analyzes people's career histories and compares their unique career track to millions of others in order to predict and suggest the most relevant opportunities.

Workey is the only platform that allows candidates to discover relevant jobs anonymously through data-science and machine-learning.

Workey's algorithm, which is based on data, machine learning and crowd wisdom, analyzes the user's career history and social footprint, taking into account background, past employers, skills, education, etc. They are then compared to millions of profiles in order to pinpoint suggestions for his or her careers' next step. Unlike other job platforms, Workey calculates a "Path" for each user and recommends highly relevant opportunities, using thousands of indicators to find similarities and differences between users that are key to pairing them with companies.

With both cndidates and employers on the same platform, Workey acts as a marketplace where candidates can pursue their suggested path and be on the job hunt anonymously, enabling them to discover potential opportunities with ease. Companies apply to candidates based on their anonymous profiles, which include past positions and skill levels, enabling more diversity in the recruitment process.

"85% of today's available workforce is open to new career opportunities, but just 12% of those people are actively looking for a new job. The majority of us don't know what our next career move is, and we're open to new opportunities but have no idea what to look for and where to start," said Ben Reuveni, co-founder and CEO of Workey. "When we created Workey, we were determined to develop a platform that made users feel comfortable and safe when discovering the next step in their careers. We wanted to build a site that helped people not just find their next job, but navigate their entire career paths. Following a successful pilot program in Israel, we're ready to bring our platform to the United States."

Within 8 months of beta, Workey onboarded over two hundred tech companies to its platform including IBM, Cisco, EMC, SanDisk, Taboola, Yahoo, Liveperson, Playbuzz, Gett and Checkpoint. The U.S. launch will help Workey facilitate the recruitment process for even more technology companies, broadening their reach to passive candidates.

Workey was founded in 2015 by veteran engineers and former members of the Israeli Intelligence Agency (8200) when they realized that big-data and data-driven insights could help people make smarter decisions about their career progress. They understood that learning from thousands of data points and millions of career profiles could predict which career opportunities were the right choice for each person. To date, Workey has raised $1.6 million in seed funding led by Israel's leading venture capital firm, Magma Venture Capital. Yahal Zilka, a founding partner of Magma who was previously on the boards of Waze and Onavo, currently sits on Workey's board.
