Spireon Set for Hardware Innovation with Appointment of Ed Suski as Vice President of Hardware Engineering


Spireon Inc., a leader in telematics, risk management and location-based Business Intelligence solutions, today announced the appointment of Ed Suski as its Vice President of Hardware Engineering, reporting to Spireon Chief Technology Officer, Rick Gruenhagen. A former executive at General Electric and United Technologies Corporation, Suski brings innovation and operational expertise to reimagine hardware and software platforms for increased scalability, efficiency and performance.

"Ed is a visionary with deep technical knowledge and broad operational expertise that will drive our hardware strategy well ahead of the market," said Gruenhagen, Chief Technology Officer at Spireon. "He will play a key leadership role in helping Spireon gain competitive leverage through hardware innovation as we scale and diversify our connected vehicle business."

Suski spent three years at General Electric (GE) and United Technologies Corporation, serving as Chief Technology Officer for various divisions. In his role at GE, he led a 110 person software and hardware engineering team located in seven locations around the world. In the role of CTO for GE's security business unit, Suski grew the video capture, storage and delivery product line from the ground up to an industry-leading position and over $50 million in annual revenue in less than 3 years.

Prior to GE and United Technologies Corporation, Suski served as a Chief Systems Architect for several tier one PC OEM's and was instrumental in the successes of Acer, Gateway (News - Alert), eMachines, Packard Bell, Samsung and AST Computer. Suski studied electrical engineering and physics at both University of Michigan and Cal. State Fullerton, earning a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. Suski is the inventor on ten U.S. issued patents over his career.
