Nom Stories can be created about anything and everything food-related including eating at a restaurant, preparing a dish, shopping for ingredients, farming vegetables or wine tasting. With Stories, chefs, influencers and media personalities bring viewers into the fold at every stage of their food experience using just an iPhone or Android (News - Alert) device. While watching live streaming videos, either on a mobile device or desktop, viewers can ask questions, make comments, and interact with other members of te community.

Television shows, including The Chew, will use Nom to give their viewers behind the scenes footage and special access to their favorite food personalities. For chefs, both professional and aspiring, Nom provides a captive audience and an avenue for two-way conversation. For print and online media, Nom provides an interactive social media channel dedicated to food, allowing readers to experience what goes into food news at their favorite publications.

"We love Nom's mission, to build a community of people who are passionate about food," said Rebecca Campbell, President of ABC Owned Television Station Group and ABC Daytime. "Through my work with The Chew, we know how incredibly important live streaming and food culture is, especially to the millennial audience. It's really exciting to see food storytelling and participation being elevated by the visionaries at Nom."

With one in three Americans (eMarketer) watching video on their phone each month and monthly mobile viewership expected to reach five in 10 by 2019, Nom is uniquely positioned to harness the power of live streaming for the food community, connecting fans to the culinary celebrities they admire.

"I've always had a personal interest in restaurants, chefs, and food influencers and am passionate about connecting the titans of food creation with the everyday chef, which is exactly what we're doing at Nom," said Steve Chen, Nom co-founder and former YouTube (News - Alert) co-founder and CTO. "As traditional media and food celebrities take notice of the enormous appetite for online and mobile food videos, we believe there is a huge growth potential for Nom."

"Technology has long been the key to democratizing experiences and access for years. With a growing demand for fine-dining experiences and authentic food at home, Nom is connecting real people to food stars and world-renowned chefs to share and learn from one another," said Vijay Karunamurthy, Nom CEO and co-founder and former YouTube engineering team lead. "We're excited to rethink mobile video discovery, give a new generation of food lovers the ability to stay connected both inside and outside of live video, and inspire them to go beyond the traditional video viewing experience."
