Ingenu's Machine Network Goes Live in Smart City Atlanta

Ingenu Inc.™, the company that delivers purpose-built IoT connectivity, today announced its Machine Network™ is now operational in the greater Atlanta metropolitan area. Continuing its network build-out through the Southern region of the U.S., the Atlanta Machine Network will serve a host of smart city and other Internet of Things (IoT) applications in the region.

The Atlanta Machine Network will cover nearly 2,400 square miles of area, and will serve a population of approximately 3.26 million. Each RPMA® (Random Phase Multiple Access) access point on the network will cover an average of 131 square miles, providing robust, reliable coverage to Atlanta's vast metropolitan area, utilizing just 18 access points.

"We are thrilled to bring the Machine Network to the progressive City of Atlanta," said Tom Gregor, president and general manager, Machine Network at Ingenu. "Atlanta is surpassing most other metropolitan areas with its commitment to enabling smart technology and IoT solutions to improve operations, reduce expenses and most importantly, enhance sustainability."

Atlanta is a leader in sustainability improvements, ranking number one in the country with the Better Buildings Initiative, which focuses on reduction of building energy and water usage through smart technology. The city is also a major contributor to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Global City Teams Challenge, which collaborates with other cities across the country to solve smart city issues that are too demanding for a single city toaddress.

"Ingenu's RPMA is the perfect technology to enable smart city applications in the critical infrastructure segments of transportation, energy and public safety," said Peter Murray, executive director at Dense Networks, a social think tank that addresses the specific challenges facing the industry and the global community. "Everything from street lighting, traffic signals and parking will be connected and monitored, and RPMA is the ideal connectivity solution for a city such as Atlanta."

The nationwide Machine Network build-out is now underway across the United States, and is targeted to serve over 100 major metropolitan areas by the end of 2017. The Machine Network currently provides more than 100,000 square miles of wireless coverage for a host of IoT applications. About RPMA

Utilizing globally available spectrum, Ingenu's RPMA® (Random Phase Multiple Access) technology is purpose-built for M2M/IoT connectivity, offering unparalleled range, coverage and capacity with extremely low power requirements and longer-lasting battery life. It uniquely enables devices to connect more efficiently and cost-effectively in both the uplink and downlink. Requiring fewer towers to provide coverage to large areas (1:10 to 1:30 radio towers needed for RPMA vs. cellular), RPMA is rapidly becoming a global standard for IoT communication.
