Ingenu Continues Midwest Expansion with Machine Network Deployment in Columbus, Ohio

Ingenu Inc.™, the company that delivers purpose-built IoT connectivity, today announced it has expanded its network footprint in the Midwest region with the availability of the Machine Network™ to the metropolitan area of Columbus, Ohio. The Internet of Things (IoT) network will serve applications including transportation, logistics, smart city and smart grid, providing coverage to Ohio's third-largest metropolitan area, reaching nearly 500 square miles and serving a population of over 1.1 million.

Ingenu selected Columbus for its Machine Network expansion as a result of the advancements the city has made in terms of smart city technology. Columbus was recently awarded a $40 million grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation as a winner of its "Smart City Challenge", and plans to fully integrate innovative technologies into its extensive transportation network. The City of Columbus has since launched the Smart Columbus initiative to expand its smart technology to applications such as street lighting, connected vehicles, event management and logistics.

"The Columbus market is well positioned to benefit from the value of the IoT," said Tom Gregor, president and general manager, Machine Network at Ingenu. "The technology enables so many applications that we take for granted such as lighting up a sidewalk, finding a parking space or attending a sporting event. Reliable connectivity is the main driver of IoT applications, and we are pleased to be able to provide these capabilities to an innovative city ike Columbus."

Ingenu's Machine Network is powered by the company's patented RPMA® (Random Phase Multiple Access) communication technology, which provides robust, reliable connectivity across a variety of operating environments. Ingenu's Machine Network build-out is now underway across the United States, and is targeted to serve 30 major metropolitan areas by the end of 2016. The Machine Network currently provides more than 100,000 square miles of wireless coverage for a host of IoT applications. About RPMA

Utilizing globally available spectrum, Ingenu's RPMA® (Random Phase Multiple Access) technology is purpose-built for M2M/IoT connectivity, offering unparalleled range, coverage and capacity with extremely low power requirements and longer-lasting battery life. It uniquely enables devices to connect more efficiently and cost-effectively in both the uplink and downlink. Requiring fewer towers to provide coverage to large areas (1:10 to 1:30 radio towers needed for RPMA vs. cellular), RPMA is rapidly becoming a global standard for IoT communication.
