Automic Software, the leader in Business Automation Software, today announced it has been named in the top category of strong performers in "The Forrester Wave™: Application Release Automation, 2016" report by Forrester Research (News - Alert). Authors Amy DeMartine and Robert Stroud evaluated application release automation solutions of nine vendors using criteria categorized by current offering, strategy and market presence.

"We are delighted to have been recognized as a strong performer by Forrester in this application release automation (ARA) evaluation," said Chris Boorman, CMO of Automic Software. "We believe this recognition is a testament to Automic's continued commitment to arm our customers with an industry-leading ARA solution that provides the agility and speed needed to achieve continuous delivery and enable digital transformation."

Automic Recognized for Release Automation Capabilities

The Forrester Wave contains expert analysis of the key differentiators, future outlook and use case suitability across nine vendors. According to Forrester, "Application release automation [ARA] is the critical final step in the delivery pipeline of applications to improve customer experiences."

According to the report, "Automic Release Automation automates deployments across all environments, provisions infrastructure and full application stacks, and integrates with the entire DevOps tool chain. [Automic] Release Automation has strong consulting and training while also showing sound support for third-party integrations, market approach, and execution road map".

The Forrester report also states, "the ARA market is growing, as a number of I&O professionals view these tools as critical building blocks of a continuous delivery pipeline. I&O professionals need ARA tools to model, deploy, and visualize application pipelines orchestrating existing tools and to handle emerging use cases such s microservices, test data management, and vulnerability tracking. In previous years, ARA vendors have sprinted to add new features, making their offerings as feature-rich as possible. As ARA tools become more mainstream, I&o professionals need documented features to use the products fully."

Automic Release Automation is the most flexible product on the market and is environment agnostic, making it singularly positioned to help transform customers on as they embark on their DevOps journeys. According to John Gildenzoph, DevOps Engineer, TASC, Automic Release Automation is, "platform-agnostic and you can use it like an assembly line to plug any worker applications in along the assembly line as you like. For example, here at TASC we use Jenkins as one of those "worker applications" and ARA tells Jenkins to build the software, then moves the software along itself to the next tool to do the next job. Using Automic's solution is easy, quick and works seamlessly for what we need to do here at TASC."

Forrester's recognition of Automic follows a fiscal year ended April 30 that saw the Automic Release Automation product line grow more than 250%.
