Photo Opportunity - It's time to engage Canada in the science of a successful tomorrow!

Join us for the official launch of Canada 2067 and Shaftesbury/Smokebomb/shift2's new multi-platform digital series, Emerald Code.

TORONTO, Oct. 25, 2016 /CNW/ - On October 26, 2016, a launch event to announce Canada 2067 and Shaftesbury/Smokebomb/shift2's new multi-platform digital series, Emerald Code, is taking place in Toronto at the Shaftesbury/Smokebomb/shift2 head office. The event will aim to help Canadians envision a bright future, where science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) learning will be more accessible, relevant and innovative than ever before.

Join us for this fun and unique photo opportunity that takes you on a journey through time as we explore STEM: Past, Present and Future, highlighting science and technology's trajectory through Canadian history, while setting the stage for the important work being done as part of Canada 2067.

The event will be attended by The Hon. Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario; Canada's first female astronaut, Roberta Bondar; star of Murdoch Mysteries, Mouna Traoré; Canada 2067 partners; Emerald Code production and broadcast partners and cast; and select stakeholders.  Upon arrival, guests will be greeted by the Past, with props from the hit Shaftesbury TV series Murdoch Mysteries, set in Toronto at the dawn of the 20th century demonstrating what science and technology looked like during the age of invention. Guests will then proceed to the Present where they will interact with Let's Talk Science volunteers and youth participating in science experiments that are taught in schools today. Finally, guests will make their way to the Future where they will be introduced to Emerald Code as well as have the opportunity to demo some of Smokebomb's upcoming tech projects.
