Scality Appoints Paul Turner as Chief Marketing Officer and Pierre Derome as Vice President of Engineering and Promotes Claire Forest as Chief People Officer


Scality, world leader in object and cloud storage, today announced the appointment of Paul Turner as Chief Marketing Officer and Pierre Derome as Vice President of Engineering, as well as the promotion of Claire Forest to Chief People Officer. With these appointments and promotion, Scality (News - Alert) strengthens its lead in the object storage market.

Storage industry expert, Paul Turner, brings more than 20 years expertise in enterprise storage having held leadership roles at NetApp, Oracle (News - Alert) and most recently Cloudian. At Cloudian, Paul was Chief Marketing Officer leading all go-to-market and product management for this early stage startup. Previous to this, Paul led the Product Strategy Office at NetApp, where he guided their investments into FlashRay, Iongrid and CacheIQ. He also was the General Manager of the OnCommand Insight Business (which included Onaro and Akorri acquisitions). Under his leadership this enterprise software business grew to more than $60M and was recognized by Gartner (News - Alert) as a leader in the Storage Resource Management market.

Pierre Derome, Scality's new VP of Engineering, has been leading Web, IT, and technical teams for over 20 years at influential companies including T-Online France, Nortel (News - Alert), Betclic Everest Group and Kertel. At T-Online he was CTO and led engineering, managing a team of 200 software engineers and a yearly budget up to €300M.

Scality has also promoted Claire Forest to become the Chief People Officer. Claire has held numerous roles in technology, sports and art, including Marketing Director in the musical industry for 15 years and France Marketing Director for UUnet, the worldwide leader in Internet access in the late nineties.
