Packet Design to Host North America Customer Symposium

Packet Design (News - Alert) will hold its North America Customer Symposium on Oct. 20-21 in Dallas, bringing together service provider, enterprise, and government organizations from around the world along with company partners. During the conference, customers will hear from each other and Packet Design experts about how to best engineer their wide area networks for optimal performance and availability as well as the delivery of new services. Educational sessions will also address how to successfully migrate to and manage new technologies such as software-defined networking (SDN) and segment routing.

Richard Lopez, the vice president of global solutions architecture for Ciena's Blue Planet Division, will deliver the industry keynote address titled "Multi-layer Network Transformation Starts with Software." He will explore the many challenges introducing SDN and NFV into existing service provider networks. Carriers want to leverage existing investments but also want to move to more programmable networks, which are optimized based on service demands. Lopez will examine how software - namely Ciena Blue Planet's optical orchestration and provisioning capabilities and Packet Design's real-time IP/MPLS analytics and SDN Management and Orchesration (MANO) capabilities - plays a critical role in making these critical network transformations possible.

Customers will also learn more about the Packet Design SDN MANO Platform, which provides the real-time telemetry, analytics, optimization, and policy needed to intelligently provision network services. Built with the company's Explorer Suite of service assurance products, the platform enables SDN applications that help customers dynamically optimize their networks and accelerate service delivery. Packet Design will present example use cases such as traffic engineering and path provisioning.

In addition, Packet Design will announce a new version of its Explorer Suite, which includes industry-first support for segment routing management as well as new workflows and service dashboards to help operations and engineering professionals better monitor specific customer services and improve troubleshooting.

About Packet Design

Packet Design technology helps the leading network operators, enterprises, and government agencies across six continents deliver critical services across the cloud. The Explorer product suite uniquely combines routing, traffic, and performance analytics for real-time, path-aware operational monitoring and back-in-time forensics for troubleshooting transient problems that can cause major service disruptions. Interactive modeling helps engineers predict the impact of changes accurately, simulate new workloads for capacity planning, and test failure scenarios to build more resilient networks. With these analytics as a foundation, Packet Design is delivering SDN management and orchestration capabilities in complex, multi-service networks.
