MHAOptics™, a new benchmarking program, now available through MHA SPS Clinical Therapy Management™ patient management software applicationFLORHAM PARK, N.J., Oct. 13, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Managed Health Care Associates, Inc. (MHA), a leading health care services and technology company focused on the alternate site health care provider marketplace, today announces the launch of MHAOptics™. MHAOptics is a new benchmarking program designed to help specialty pharmacies and infusion providers gain valuable insight into their operational efficiency and clinical management of patients with complex diseases. The MHAOptics program leverages key insights and information available through MHA Specialty Pharmacy Solutions (SPS) Clinical Therapy Management™ (CTM) patient management software application. The CTM application collects key clinical and dispensing metrics that support pharmacies in their goal of optimizing patient care. The benchmarking of outcomes based performance metrics (e.g. demographic information, adherence and persistence insights, patient focused indicators of overall health, and disease specific data) will provide pharmacies with the tools to compare their own clinical management of patients to that of an aggregated network of infusion and specialty providers. This can help pharmacies identify best practices or create further process improvements. The MHAOptics program will initially launch within the immune globulin CTM module as IGOptics™. This program is designed to provide full visibility to pharmacies that service patients requiring immune globulin therapy. Stacey Ness,PharmD, CSP, MSCS, AAHIVP, Senior Director of MHA Specialty Clinical Services, comments, "MHAOptics is an exciting new benchmarking feature that further reinforces the value of specialty patient management through our CTM. In addition to our existing CTM reporting package, MHAOptics will provide a unique level of visibility and analysis into clinical management at the specialty pharmacy level. Most importantly, the benchmarking insights can be used to identify best in industry performance targets, enabling pharmacies to clearly identify where they may have existing best practices in place, and to understand where there may be performance gaps and an opportunity for process improvements." Luba Sobolevsky, PharmD, Executive Director of the Immunoglobulin National Society (IgNS), states, "There is a very real need for additional data and information in the immune globulin space, particularly metrics on clinical practice parameters and outcomes, that are able to be tracked longitudinally over time. The ability to use that type of information for benchmarking purposes helps lend clarity to an area that is not currently well quantified." Dr. Ness adds, "With IGOptics, we are excited to introduce a program that provides a new level of clinical insights as well as a higher degree of business intelligence for pharmacies that care for immune globulin patients."
