Achievements, Collaborations, Innovation Celebrated at Inaugural Women Building Bio EventVirginia Bio, the statewide non-profit association representing the life science industry in the Commonwealth of Virginia, successfully hosted its inaugural conference Women Building Bio: The XX Factor to celebrate the role of women in the bioscience community, share strategies for driving collaboration in research and commercialization, highlight tactics for developing employees and leaders in the workplace and discuss the importance of educating and encouraging female students to participate in STEM programs. Women Building Bio: The XX Factor, held on September 29 at the Inova (News - Alert) Center for Personalized Health, brought together 250 leaders from enterprise life science companies and research institutions to entrepreneurs, legislators and academias. This event marked the first time women across the industry have come together from across Virginia and the BioHealth Capital region to identify needs and opportunities, make connections and continue driving excellence in bioscience.
