A.M. Best Withdraws Credit Ratings of United National Specialty Insurance Company


A.M. Best has withdrawn the Financial Strength Rating of A (Excellent) and the Long-Term Issuer Credit Rating of "a" of United National Specialty Insurance Company (United National Specialty) (Milwaukee, WI). On May 20, 2016, A.M. Best had placed these ratings under review with developing implications.

United National Specialty, previously a subsidiary of Diamond State Insurance Company, was sold as a clean shell to State National Companies, Inc. on Oct. 1, 2016. The sale has resulted in A.M. Best withdrawing the ratings.
