The Cottonport Bank and FHLB Dallas to Award $10K to Nonprofit for Developmentally Disabled
The Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas (FHLB Dallas) and The Cottonport
Bank will award nonprofit Avoyelles Society for the Developmentally
Disabled (ASDD) $10,000 in Partnership Grant Program (PGP (News - Alert)) funds.
District Director Wyatt Lobrano from the office of U.S. Representative
Ralph Abraham (District 5); Maria R. Trichell, a legislative aide for
the office of Louisiana State Representative Robert Johnson (District
28); Avoyelles Parish Sheriff Doug Anderson; as well as representatives
from FHLB Dallas, The Cottonport Bank, and ASDD will attend a check
presentation. The check presentation will take place on Thursday,
October 6 at 1:00 p.m. at The Cottonport Bank's offices at
144 South Main Street, Marksville, Louisiana 71351. The media is
encouraged to attend.
Presented annually, PGP grants are awarded to community-based
organizations. The grants may be used for research, organizational
capacity-building, grant- and funding-application assistance, or
contractual services.
ASDD will use the funds to fund contractual services to support the
nonprofit's financial reporting. The nonprofit, which has been in
operation for 45 years, provides training and employment opportunities
to individuals with developmental disabilities.
