Washington State Office of Cybersecurity Partners with U.S. Department of Homeland Security to Kick Off National Cybersecurity Awareness Month


BELLEVUE, Wash., Sept. 30, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM). As the countdown to NCSAM begins, the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), along with companies around the globe, are working to improve awareness of the steps needed to stay safer and more secure online.

October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month

This year, the Washington State Office of Cybersecurity will be kicking off NCSAM at the Hyatt Regency in Bellevue Washington next Tuesday – Wednesday, October 4-5th, with simultaneous presentations taking place in Spokane on October 5th. Open to the public, this two-day event will bring together representatives from the private sector, research, and government agencies including Microsoft, Orrick, Avista, the Center for Advanced Transportation and Energy Solutions, Joint Base Lewis–McChord, the State Department of Commerce and Whatcom Community College.
