FinalCode Achieves FIPS Certification for Encryption Modules Employed in Enterprise-class File Collaboration Security Platform

SAN JOSE, Calif., Sept. 27, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- FinalCode, Inc., the innovator in persistent file security, today announced that it has achieved Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) certification for FinalCode Crypto Module and FinalCode Crypto Module for Mobile, now used in its enterprise-class file collaboration security platform. U.S. government agencies, their vendors and many commercial institutions in the financial services, manufacturing and healthcare industries, require security products that employ encryption technology to be certified under FIPS. Using FinalCode, these organizations can share sensitive files internally and externally with confidence, knowing that unauthorized recipients will not have access.  FinalCode’s persistent file security platform provides strong encryption, granular entitlement and traceability controls with the ability to remotely delete files even after they have been shared. Users simply define file permission settings and respective recipients, or have such controls applied automatically through corporate templates. Once protected, these files can be securely stored and shared, as they can only be accessed with the FinalCode Client. Authenticated recipients can open and fully use the secured file in the native application, according to the security policy. File owners and administrators can change policy dynamically, as well as view file activity and remotely delete the file. Theplatform is agnostic to an organization’s existing file storage, transport and collaboration infrastructure and enforces file security for external users at no additional cost - allowing for rapid deployment and cost-effective use. FIPS are standards developed by the U.S. government for use in computer systems, which describe document securing processes, encryption algorithms and related specifications standards for use within non-military government agencies and by government contractors and vendors who work with the agencies. FinalCode’s encryption modules achieved FIPS 140-2 Level 1 certification and are Suite-B compliant. NIST certification notices can be found respectively at: http://csrc.nist.gov/groups/STM/cmvp/documents/140-1/140val-all.htm#2725http://csrc.nist.gov/groups/STM/cmvp/documents/140-1/140val-all.htm#2717 “The demanding FIPS certification process demonstrates that FinalCode employs industry-compliant standards for encryption and security management,” said Scott Gordon, chief operating officer at FinalCode. “Having achieved FIPS, government agencies, their vendors and commercial institutions operating secure computing environments can be assured that the implementation of FinalCode’s encryption has been evaluated in a standardized manner to meet their compliance requirements.” The company also announced today the availability of FinalCode 5.11, which introduces an array of new features advancing usability and interoperability for enterprise-grade file sharing security.  See “FinalCode 5.11 Advances Usability and Interoperability” for more information.
