Top findings of the search showed that though times may change, issues remain the same - with jobs, taxes and the military consistently topping the list of discussion at Presidential debates. Other trending topics reflect the signs of the times: in the debates of the 80's, social security topped the issues; the 90's focused on crime; from 2000-2009, national security reigned; and from 2010 to present, the middle class took center stage.

Veritone leveraged its innovative and proprietary CMP to search and analyze a wide spectrum of broadcast media for the issues most mentioned in prior Presidential debates since 1980. The infographic here illustrates the findings. This new AI search technology also analyzed broadcast media to identify the 'Most Memorable' debate moments. Top moments include great quips from Presidet Reagan during the Reagan/Mondale debate in 1984, as well as from Ross Perot during the 1992 Presidential debate, and you can see these memorable moments here.

To give clients and other users the latest technology edge, Veritone's CMP is currently being deployed by political campaigns, elected officials as well as public affairs and special interest groups to provide insights and analysis of media that gives an upper-hand in the election cycle. This technology is changing the political landscape during this heightened campaign season, as the CMP has the ability to search nearly four decades of debate coverage using facial recognition and key words in mere seconds. See the Veritone platform in action here.

"In politics, everyone will tell you that speed wins. Veritone is revolutionizing search across audio and video, and we believe our technology is hands-down, a game-changer for politics," said Kristy McKnight, General Manager, Veritone Politics. "It is also a breakthrough for voters, because this technology provides them with a level of transparency into what has happened over time. Information can now be shared with voters to make an educated and informed voting decision like never before."

Veritone leads the wave of AI that is changing business across industry. Veritone's CMP allows a series of cognitive engines that mimic the process of the human brain to collaborate with one another and discern intelligence in both streamed and recorded audio and video. Veritone's groundbreaking AI platform renders every second and frame of a massive amount of audio and video content searchable for objects, faces, license plates, logos, phrases, sentiment, voice identification, and translation, and it provides additional AI capabilities that are constantly evolving and changing in response to industry trends and needs.
