WorldQuant University (WQU) - a tuition-free, online master's degree program in financial engineering - today announced its Commitment to Action seeking to address the disparity gap between talent and educational opportunity throughout the world by providing access to advanced education to talented individuals across cultural and economic backgrounds. By making advanced financial engineering education accessible to students worldwide, WQU seeks to enable students anywhere to advance their career in a cutting-edge field, without the burden of tuition costs. Courses are taught by leaders in financial engineering, technology and education who possess significant real-world experience from various disciplines and backgrounds. Currently WQU has 200 enrolled students from more than 35 countries.

Through its CGI commitment, WQU seeks to scale access to the program to qualified students throughout the world by strategically selecting accomplished partners that will help identify, recruit and employ talented students. While WQU accepts students from all over the world, WQU's commitment is focused on expanding its presence in China, Hungary, India, Kenya, Nigeria, Russia and Vietnam.

"Education is a critical component of a successful society, as it opens doors and improves lives. While talent is equally distributed throughout the world, unfortunately opportunity is not. Today, access to high-quality education is dependent upon uncontrollable factors, such as financial means and place of birth. Educational opportunities should not continue to be a privilege rather than a right," said WQU's Founder, Igor Tulchinsky. "WorldQuant University strives to address this dilemma, while enabling a virtuous cycle benefitting the broader communities n which our graduates live. Regardless of location or means, qualified students receive tuition-free, advanced education helping them achieve their true potential, prepare for impactful and rewarding careers and further their communities."

"Although it's only been a year since inception, students are already experiencing the benefits of WorldQuant University's renowned faculty and curriculum, as they are developing invaluable skills and excelling in their studies. While the monumental challenge of providing universal access to high-quality education will not be solved overnight, WorldQuant University's focus on providing opportunity to talented students is improving lives throughout the world," said WQU's CEO, Daphne Kis. "With the ability to leverage our advanced, online technology platform, WQU is positioned to accommodate thousands of students around the world. The University looks forward to partnering with CGI's extraordinary member organizations to educate many who would not otherwise have the opportunity of earning a graduate degree and realize its benefits."
