ZenHub expands into enterprise market; releases free tier for small teams

Building on enterprise traction, ZenHub offers free licenses to get started

VANCOUVER, Sept. 8, 2016 /PRNewswire/ - Building on significant traction within the enterprise market, ZenHub – the best-in-class collaboration suite for software teams –  has announced a free tier for small teams. The announcement reflects the company's increasing focus on bottom-up adoption in the Enterprise: increasing numbers of large companies are introducing flexibility and choice into their IT toolkits, allowing individual teams to use their favorite tools. ZenHub benefits from this trend because its unique integration with GitHub is very popular with developers – and therefore the people who manage them.

Thousands of teams at companies like Rackspace, Docker, Comcast, and NASA already use ZenHub and ZenHub Enterprise to enhance their development workflow; the products add robust collaboration features directly into GitHub and GitHub Enterprise. By tracking work "where the work happens", ZenHub allows companies to eliminate context switching and double-work while enabling deep insights into the health of a company's software projects.

The free tier includes ZenHub's robust feature set, from highly advanced multi-repository task boards, to an expanded reporting suite, Epics, a Slack integration, and more, and can be used across unlimited GitHub repositories.

"It's hard enough to start a company, and SaaS bills are just one more thing to worry about. We're excited to eliminate the barrier to entry to get started while we continue to expand our enterprise-built solution for the Global 1000," said ZenHub CEO Matt Butler. "We're continuing to meet the needs of large teams, and are excited to provide free plans as a thank-you to our community."

This change also puts ZenHub in more competitive position in relation to other collaboration suites, like Trello (which offers a free tier, but lacks the advanced enterprise-built features ZenHub provides.)

Previously, all teams using ZenHub on private GitHub repositories had to pay. With this announcement, teams of five or fewer can use ZenHub free; teams over five qualify for the Growth plan ($5/user/month.) ZenHub Enterprise, the company's on-premise solution for GitHub Enterprise, will not be affected by the pricing changes.
