Infostretch Adds New Open Source Test Automation Framework to QMetry Suite

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Sept. 13, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Enterprise mobility solution provider Infostretch has announced release of the QMetry Automation Framework, an open source testing automation framework available on GitHub. This is the first framework that unifies test automation across web, mobile and web services while enabling testing of multiple devices in the cloud.

Infostretch: Accelerating the mobility of things

QMetry Automation Framework simplifies the creation, maintenance and management of test case libraries and seamlessly integrates with major platforms.  These platforms include Appium and Selenium, leading device clouds such as Perfecto, test management platforms QMetry Test Manager, HPE ALM, CA Agile Central (formerly Rally) and ApTest and CI/CD platforms CloudBees Jenkins Platform, Bamboo, Teamcity and Hudson.

QMetry Automation Framework is a complete package of Selenium-driven automated testing with detailed reporting and trending, mobile quality automation and behavior-driven development.

Key benefits of QMetry Automation Framework include:

Facilitates streamlined and structured approach: Abstracting the technical implementation away from the operational components

Reusable test assets: Highly maintainable and repeatable tests that utilize reusable test assets with appropriate modularity and semantic structure

Increases collaboration with manual testers, developers and project owners using acceptance test driven development: Behavior-driven and keyword-driven test authoring

Data-driven testing: Run a single test case against multiple test data sets provided through CSV, XML, JSON, Microsoft Excel or your own database

Unified scripting across different digital platforms: The right framework for web, mobile (including native, hybrid, and mobile web) and web service test automation solutions

<>Advanced reporting with trending and root causes: Quicker decision making due to advanced visualization of trends, weak spots and root causes

QMetry Automation Framework source code is made available under the GNU General Public License, version 3 (GPL-3.0), and is now available for download.

"The proliferation of capable open source development tools and pay-per-use cloud services has dramatically reduced the cost of innovation," wrote Forrester analysts Michael Facemire, Jeffrey Hammond, and Julie Ask in the August, 2016 report entitled The Future of Mobile Experience Development. According to the report, "mobile development demands a structural change in the way you design and build applications. This means successful development teams can create modern, compelling systems of engagement and link them with systems of record and systems of automation."

"Perfecto is a strong supporter of open source technology," commented Roi Carmel, Chief Strategy Officer of Perfecto. "It eliminates enterprises' concerns over vendor 'lock-in' and helps unify their approach to testing digital experiences across devices and technologies. The integration of QMetry Automation Framework with Perfecto's Continuous Quality Lab gives test automation engineers a robust and flexible way to automate and control execution on a cloud-based quality lab."

"Test automation is a fundamental building block of the agile and DevOps movements," commented Kohsuke Kawaguchi, Jenkins founder and CTO at CloudBees, the hub of enterprise Jenkins and DevOps. "It is hard to overstate just how important, yet challenging, it is to get to well-automated, reliable, fast tests. By integrating with Jenkins, the leading continuous delivery platform, Infostretch is ensuring that Jenkins and QMetry Automation Framework users will be able to deliver better software, faster."

"QMetry Automation Framework is a mature, tried-and-tested framework built on more than a decade of experience that Infostretch has brought to application development and testing," said Manish Mathuria, Infostretch CTO and Co-Founder. "In response to the growing demand from customers we are offering these functionalities to the open source community.  Now organizations can better utilize the open source technology framework to automate their web, mobile and web services testing processes and thereby shorten their release cycles."

QMetry Automation Framework is available for download via open source. You can also get to all documentation here. Stop by our booth #K4 at Jenkins World, 2016 in Santa Clara, CA, Sept 13-15 for a demo or to learn more!
