UltiPro Helps Social Services Firm Manage Unique Reporting, Payroll Demands

Ultimate Software (Nasdaq:ULTI), a leading provider of human capital management (HCM) solutions in the cloud, announced today that Consumer Directed Services (CDS) in Texas, an organization that enables individuals with disabilities to self-direct their care, is using UltiPro to respond to challenging state and federal reporting requirements and to manage its complex payroll.

CDS in Texas is a financial management service and a direct vendor for the state's Department of Aging and Disability Services. CDS in Texas empowers people with disabilities to achieve a level of independence in the community by directing their own attendant care. As the employers of their own companies, the individuals are responsible for recruiting, training, and managing their attendants. CDS in Texas administers the individuals' payrolls, files federal and state employer taxes on their behalf, and completes quarterly and annual employer tax returns. UltiPro's ability to manage the reporting and payroll for the thousands of CDS in Texas's component companies has enabled the firm to fulfill its commitment to individual service and support.

"We selected UltiPro because the solution can accommodate our complicated government filing and reporting requirements," said Pamela Griffin, payroll manager at CDS in Texas. "UltiPro is able to aggregate the thousands of tax liability reports from each component company under one EIN [Employer Identification Number] and produce the required aggregated SSA [Social Security Administration] file. We can also run the process in reverse, creating thousands of individual company reports as required by SUI [State Unemployment Insurance] regulations. We challenged Ultimate Software to help us respond to these reporting requirements, and they have stepped up."

UltiPro's flexibility is evident not only in its ability to simplify the company's complex reporting, but also in the way it helps CDS in Texas customers manage their payrolls.

"UltiPro is a great partner that allows us to provide our customers with the financial services they need," said Griffin. "Whenwe receive a timesheet from the customer, we use UltiPro to calculate the payroll, and the customer can review the information online. If there is a problem, we can correct it before the paycheck is released."

Griffin reports that UltiPro's role-based access builds trust between CDS in Texas and the customer. The customer can see within minutes when a check has been produced, and as a result, knows the employee is going to be paid on time. On-time payment is especially crucial in this field, according to Griffin, because a disgruntled provider walking out on an elderly or disabled employer can create a human crisis.

"UltiPro support has been essential to keeping providers on the job and our customers safe," said Griffin. "Our Ultimate support team knows that we often need a check produced immediately, and they always work with us to resolve any issue."

"UltiPro is designed with the flexibility to handle organizations' unique business challenges," said Greg Swick, chief global sales officer at Ultimate. "We are pleased that our HR technology is changing lives for the better and that our partnership with CDS in Texas is having a genuine impact on the community."
