The Getinge Group and Nordea Bank Lead the Nordics to RPA

LONDON, September 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --

In this age of digitalization, companies are facing the challenge of staying up to date with the latest technologies on offer. With Robotic Process Automation (RPA) being the topic of the moment many people are still asking if this is a realistic performance advancement, or just another buzzword.

Speaking exclusively to the Shared Services & Outsourcing Network (SSON), Tuomo Sievilä, Strategic Partner and Robotic Process Automation Concept Owner at Nordea Bank and Niclas Sjöswärd, Chief Group Operations Officer at Sweden's Getinge Group discuss their own personal experiences of implementation as well as how they are now successfully leveraging RPA.

Sievilä states "there is a lot of educating to do around robotics, it is surely a challenge." Despite this, Sievilä goes on to say "interest towards this is really high so we don't need to convince [each individual business areas] of the potential benefits." With Sievilä as the leader, Nordea Bank is moving cautiously through the stages of implementation, initially running pilots across Norway, Demark, Finland, and Sweden they have seen a successful implementation thus far. In comparison, Sjöswärd was not an immediate convert to the cause of robotics, however despite this in the interview he states "Robotics came along at just the right time for us." He is currently leading the Getinge Group through a five-year plan to deliver 50% efficiency improvements.
