Molex Introduces Woodhead® LED Tube Light

Molex has launched the Woodhead® LED Tube Light. Improving on an established, extremely durable tube light design, the new light replaces fluorescent lamps with LEDs and can be used in critical construction and maintenance applications.

"Replacing fluorescent lamps with LEDs greatly enhances reliability, efficiency and lamp life," said Tom McCollum, global product manager, Molex (News - Alert). "Rubber endcaps and a reinforced center channel make this LED fixture extremely durable while the LED tubes further enhance the durability of the light fixture, eliminating breakages and downtime."

The durability of industrial light fixtures has long been a pain point for construction and maintenance workers in industrial and aerospace/defense industries. Also, insufficient lamp life leads to burn-outs and elevated lamp replacement costs. Due to their mercury content, disposal of fluorescent lamps can be complex and expensive.

The Woodhead LED Tube Light solves these "life and end-of-life" issues. It can maintain 80% luminosity for 50,000 hours - almost double the average life of fluorescent lamps. In addition, replacing fluorescent lamps with LEDs eliminates the use of mercury in the fixture and the costs associated with mercury disposal.

The ballast-free Woodhead LED Tube Light is composed of four 4-foot LED T10 lamps, which shorten and lighten the fixture compared to a fluorescent fixture. A16/3 SOOW output cord utilizes a NEMA 5-15 Watertite Connector with closure cap for enhanced durability on feed-through versions. The light comes with Velcro straps to enable custom mounting.
