Okta + Google Announce Strategic Alliance to Help Enterprises Accelerate Their Digital Transformation


Today at Oktane16 in Las Vegas, Okta, the leading provider of identity and device management, and Google (News - Alert) announced a new strategic alliance. Together, Okta and Google will help enterprises and their people - employees, partners and customers - accelerate their transition to a multi-cloud, mobile-centric architecture, and securely deploy best of breed applications, including Google Apps, to spur collaboration and innovation. As part of this strategic alliance, Okta is now Google's preferred partner for identity, and the two companies will jointly deliver a flexible multi-cloud reference architecture enabling enterprises to securely deploy and manage access to best of breed enterprise cloud applications. Enterprises will be able to leverage The Okta Identity Cloud to connect to complex, legacy, on-premises technology and manage the identity lifecycle.

The new alliance will benefit any enterprise moving from legacy infrastructure to the cloud, in addition to Okta + Google's shared enterprise customers such as Teach for America, Broadcom (News - Alert) and LinkedIn. The agreement builds on Okta + Google's existing partnerships with Google for Work and Android (News - Alert) for Work. Tenets of the strategic alliance include:

  • Okta is the preferred identity partner for all Google Apps deployments in the enterprise;
  • Okta + Google will introduce a flexible multi-cloud reference architecture enabling enterprises to securely deploy and manage access to best of breed enterprise cloud products;
  • Okta + Google will equip global systems integrators (GSIs), Google resellers, and independent software vendors (ISVs) with training, tools and support enterprises need to accelerate their transformation to the cloud.
