Metamarkets Expands Leadership Team with Nhan Phan as Vice President of Engineering

SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 30, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Metamarkets, the leader in interactive analytics for programmatic marketing, today announced that Nhan Phan has joined the company as vice president of engineering. Phan, who most recently served in a similar role for the Rubicon Project, will be responsible for leading the engineering team responsible for backend and frontend development on the Metamarkets infrastructure, which processes over 100 billion programmatic events daily.

Phan is an experienced engineering leader who has specialized in architecting, optimizing and scaling marketing technology stacks at public companies and startups alike. He has spent the past two years at Rubicon Project following its acquisition of iSocket in 2014, where he also served as the vice president of engineering. He has also worked in various engineering positions with Reputation.com, OpenTV and ZillionTV.

"I'm amazed by the scale and sophistication of Metamarkets' infrastructure and its capability to handle high volume, high-velocity of programmatic data in real-time, while providing users the ability to directly access and take action on their data," said Phan. "Metamarkets has the best analytics technology in the industry, and is well-positioned to become the standard for programmatic reporting. I'm thrilled to help drive its next chapter of growth through continued technology innovation."

In addition, the company announced that Bruce Armstrong, a operating partner at Khosla Ventures, has joined its board of directors.

Armstrong joins the Metamarkets board representing Khosla Ventures, where he focuses on big data and cloud infrastructure companies, leveraging his more than 25 years of experience developing, marketing, selling and investing in enterprise technology. Prior to joining Khosla, Armstrong was the president and CEO of PivotLink, a leading provider of SaaS business intelligent applications that was acquired by SmartFocus in 2014. He also previously served as CEO at both Kickfire and KNOVA Software, held leadership roles at Sybase and Teradata, and has appeared on the boards of more than 30 technology companies.

"As marketers look to maximize their programmatic business, they are increasingly eager to use data to identify new efficiencies and act on those insights immediately," said Armstrong. "I am thrilled to be joining the board of Metamarkets, a company that is providing interactive analytics technology to companies such as Twitter, AOL and LinkedIn. I look forward to lending my perspective to help them continue to drive value for customers and partners."

"Adding these established leaders to our executive team will undoubtedly strengthen our business and help us bring new innovations to our customers," said Metamarkets CEO Mike Driscoll. "With Nhan driving our engineering team and Bruce providing critical guidance on our board, we're in a great position to provide revenue-driving insights for our customers by putting programmatic data at their fingertips."
