Solutions To Stop Gridlock
Among FAST proposals that could yield quick results are "paired streets" for heavy traffic areas like Vanowen & Victory Blvd. in the San Fernando Valley and Olympic Blvd. and Pico Blvd. in West L. A.  A simple redirection of lanes and prohibition of parking during peak hours on these East-West streets were cited as easily implemented solutions.

Public Support  Awareness of Gridlocked Intersections
A key component of the FAST Plan is public understanding there are solutions to solving the Traffic Gridlock problem.  Thomas is reaching out to residents of Los Angeles who are concerned about safe ways to prevent congestion, and to improve the flow of traffic while protecting neighborhoods by discouraging motorist short-cuts and racing through populated neighborhood streets.
