Vuzix to Participate in Oppenheimer Drone Day and Other Drone EventsROCHESTER, N.Y., Aug. 25, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Vuzix® Corporation (NASDAQ: VUZI), a leading supplier of Smart-Glasses, Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) technologies and products for the consumer and enterprise markets, is pleased to announce that the Company has been invited to participate in Oppenheimer & Co.'s inaugural Drone Day, scheduled to take place on September 19, 2016 at the Storm King Art Center in New Windsor, New York. As part of a growing marketing and sales campaign in the drone market, Vuzix is also participating in many other leading events around the world. Upcoming Events: Event: Multi GP racing Association Championship Event: Paris Drone Festival Event: Oppenheimer & Co.'s inaugural Drone Day Vuzix has been active in this fast growing competitive sport and has sponsored an international drone racing team that is competing in select racing events worldwide using Vuzix iWear Video Headphones. The first event was the 2016 US National Drone Racing Championships, which was held at Governors Island in New York City on August 5-7, 2016. This weekend Vuzix will participate in the CFDR (Central Florida Drone Racing) event on August 27, 2016 in Sarasota, Florida. This event is a test of all-digital low latency racing solution utilizing Vuzix iWear Video Headphones with up to 10 drones racing at once. The following week, Sept 2-4, the Multi GP racing association will hold its racing Championship in Muncie, Indiana. This will be the first time an all-digital HD race event will be featured. Following these two U.S. events, Vuzix is in Paris for Drone Festival on September 4, 2016. This event is sponsored by the European Rotor Sports Association (ERSA). Vuzix iWear Video Headphones will be part of the all-digital races. The event has some of the sport's top performing pilots entered to compete in front of an estimated 100,000 spectators on a race track along the iconic Avenue De Champs-Élysées. During these events, select racers and judgng officials will be wearing Vuzix iWear products and operating drones that will be enabled with the Connex ProSight system.
