NEW YORK, Aug. 24, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- One More Company today announced the appointment of Chad Woodford as Chief Privacy Officer. In addition to his new role, Woodford will continue to oversee One More Company's core product efforts including Sende.rs and other to be announced products.

"Because our users trust us with their email, we have always put their privacy and security first. Consistent with the privacy-by-design approach, it's embedded into the design of all of our products. We also share the same privacy-first ethos established by organizations and companies like the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), Apple, Google, and Twitter. It's not just the right thing to do; it makes for a better long-term product," said Florian Seroussi, co-founder, and CEO of One More Company. "Since joining us, Chad has shown considerable passion and insight surrounding the issues and needs involving privacy, data protection, data sharing and information management from bot a legal and morally right perspective."

Privacy is an increasingly vital issue online. In January, results of a Pew Research Center Poll on the state of Privacy in America, which was two and a half years in the making, "revealed that 91% of adults agree or strongly agree that consumers have lost control of how personal information is collected and used by companies. Half of internet users said they worry about the amount of information available about them online, and most said they knew about key pieces of their personal information that could be found on the internet. Only 9% say they feel they have "a lot" of control over how much information is collected about them and how it is used."

Woodford has a broad background in technology, intellectual property, and privacy. While at Fenwick & West he was a founding member of the firm's privacy group. During his legal career Woodford also practiced across a variety of areas including copyright, right of publicity, cyberlaw, open-source and new media issues which all align with his new role.

In 2011 Woodford joined Twitter, serving as their Product and Business Counsel. With digital advertising so rife with complex and challenging consumer privacy issues, online privacy was a major focus at Twitter. There he provided counsel on the advertising and revenue products, as well as the ad sales and marketing teams on issues ranging from privacy law to IP to content regulation. He then joined Axiom Global, serving as Product and Business Counsel to Google's Chrome team from 2013–2015, before joining One More Company, Inc.
