MEDIA ADVISORY: Facebook and Greater Moncton Chamber of Commerce to host free workshop for Moncton businesses


Part of a special privacy series with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada

MONCTON, NB, Aug. 11, 2016 /CNW/ - On Thursday, August 18, Facebook's Boost Your Business will take place in Moncton, New Brunswick, a session dedicated to teaching small business owners how to optimize their presence on the world's largest social network. The event will be co-hosted by the Greater Moncton Chamber of Commerce, with special guests Ginette Petitpas Taylor, MP for Moncton-Riverview-Dieppe, Brent Homan, Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, and Stuart Forestell, Public Safety Canada.

As a special segment of the program, attendees will have the opportunity to hear from, and speak directly to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner and Public Safety Canada. This segment is a unique opportunity for business owners to better understand how to implement effective privacy and security measures for their small business.

The Boost Your Business workshop will include a training session led by a Facebook small business expert on the latest best practices and strategies for success. Attendees will be learn how to use Facebook to grow their busiess and connect with current and potential customers.



A question and answer session will follow, featuring a panel of local small business owners, who will share their Facebook tips, tricks and suggestions. Front Porch Mercantile, MOVI Yoga, Dance, Fitness and The Humanity Project have been selected to join the panel as best-in-class examples of businesses using Facebook.
