Vizient, Inc. Designated a Committed Partner by the Health Care Payment Learning and Action Network

Vizient, Inc. today announced it was recently designated as a Committed Partner by the Health Care Payment Learning and Action Network (LAN). This national, multi-stakeholder coalition will be focused on helping to advance the work being done across various sectors within the health care system to increase the adoption of value-based payments and alternative payment models (APMs).

The Department of Health and Human Services launched the LAN to help achieve better care, smarter spending, and healthier people by working in concert with partners in the public, private and non-profit sectors to transform the nation's health system to emphasize value over volume.

Vizient joins a select group of organizations that have committed to participate with the LAN and its various work groups to develop and align activities in support of APMs in order to foster a collective positive impact on patients and the general health care ecosystem.

"This is a great opportunity for our members and their clinicians that will help them more quickly and effectively prepare for the advent of APMs," said Keith Kosel, PhD, senior vice president, government affairs.

Vizient has committed to support the goals of the LAN by:

  • Raising awareness of value-based payment systems and APMs among clinicians, administrators and other health care professionals
  • Obtaining feedback from members and sharing that feedback with CMS and the LAN work groups
  • Working with clinicians participating in Vizient's Transforming Clinical Practice Initiative (TCPI) Practice Transformation Network to help them make a successful transition to APMs
