Stand-up Comedy Streaming App Laugh.ly Announces Content Partnerships with Comedy Central, Comedy Dynamics and Other Leading Comedy Producers

Laugh.ly, the first and only streaming app built from the ground-up for stand-up comedy, today announced major new content partnerships with the world's leading comedy production studios and labels. These include:

Free to use and available on iOS™, Android (News - Alert)® and any Web browser, Laugh.ly's partnerships with these leading producers and content providers will provide free users as well as paid subscribers with direct access to thousands of recorded stand-up routines by such renowned comedians as Louis C.K. Amy Schumer, Kevin Hart, Lewis Black, Jim Gaffigan, Bill Hicks, Aziz Ansari, Dave Attell, Daniel Tosh and Brian Regan, to name only a few.

Terms of the new partnerships include distribution of past and present content, as well as all future releases.

"We're excited to be partnering with Laugh.ly on their new streaming venture," said Steve Raizes, SVP, Operations and Strategy, Consumer Products, Viacom (News - Alert) Music and Entertainment Group "We're a strong believer in our comedy portfolio and see this as an excellent way to expand our reach among comedy fans."

"Comedy Dynamics is honored to be part of Laugh.ly's launch and we know it's going to help make comedy exponentially better for artists and comedy fans everywhere," said Comedy Dynamics president Brian Volk-Weiss.

The company also announced a limited beta, available to a select group of users who join the program on the Laugh.ly website. Users interested in joining the beta can request access at http://laugh.ly. When officially launched on August 10, Laugh.ly's features will include:

  • Tens of thousands of stand-up comedy routines from more than 400 leading comics;
  • The most extensive comedy libraries available, accessed through direct distribution deals with the largest media publishers in comedy as well as direct relationships with A-list comedians;
  • First-of-its-kind self-publishing tools providing emerging comedians a platform to upload and publish comedy albums of their own;
  • An extensible technology built to offer a streaming experience unique for spoken word.

"While Spotify and Pandora (News - Alert) have changed the fabric of music streaming, there is a huge untapped opportunity to deliver top-quality, stand-up comedy content to their tens of millions of fans," said Dave Scott, Founder and CEO of Laugh Radio, the Silicon Valley veteran and former comic. "These partnerships will provide comedy fans with instant access to the most extensive comedic libraries and material from nearly every professional comedian plus some of the top well-known and emerging comedians."

Users will initially have two primary listening options - ad-supported listening free of charge or a premium service called "Front Row Seating" for $3.99 per month.
