New Medscape Education Capability Streamlines Physician CME Process

NEW YORK, July 19, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Physicians can now earn credits for American Board of Internal Medicine Maintenance of Certification points (ABIM MOC) through a new Medscape Education capability that enables Medscape members to secure MOC points directly for designated educational activities in addition to the CME credits those activities provide.

Medscape Education

"Our members told us that streamlining the two-step process of earning CME and MOC credits would make a positive contribution to their professional lives," said Jamie DeMaria, Senior Vice President, Medscape Education.  "We are pleased to have the ability to provide this to our members."

ABIM Board Certified physicians complete approved MOC CME activities, which uses a structured framework created and validated by their peers for keeping up with and assessing knowledge of the latest scientific developments and changes in practice and specialty areas.

Medscape members will be eligible to receive ABIM MOC points across a range of practice areas and specialties, including cardiology, endocrinology, general medicine, internal medicine and infectious disease.  The opening screen of the activity at Medscape.org will indicate whether MOC points are awarded in the Credits Available section.
