CSC Recognized With Two Disability Workplace Honors
CSC (NYSE:CSC (News - Alert)),
a global leader in next-generation IT services and solutions,
today announced that it is among 27 leading organizations selected to
receive the "2016
Leading Disability Employer Seal"™ from the National
Organization on Disability (NOD). CSC also received the top score of 100
on the 2016
Disability Equality Index® (DEI®), receiving
the designation of "2016 DEI Best Places to Work."
"We are proud that CSC is recognized as a diverse workplace where people
of all backgrounds, age, skills and experience work together
to accomplish great things," said Jo Mason, CSC's Chief Human Resource
Officer. "We actively promote and advance inclusive policies and
practices that lead to better employment outcomes for people with
disabilities as employees, customers and suppliers. Our goal is
to provide as many avenues as possible for employee engagement
and success, both professionally and personally, while reflecting the
dynamic industry we represent."
The NOD "Leading Disability Employer Seal" is a new effort to recognize
companies that demonstrate exemplary hiring and employment practices for
people with disabilities. It is awarded based on data furnished by
companies in response to NOD's Disability Employment Tracker™, a free,
confidential, online assessment and benchmarking of companies'
disability inclusion programs in the following areas:
-
Climate and Culture
-
Identifying and Sourcing Talent
-
Onboarding
-
Performance Management
-
Tracking and Measurement, including outcomes i the past 12 months and
goals for the next 12-18 months
The DEI is a joint initiative between the US Business Leadership Network®
(USBLN®) and the American Association of People with
Disabilities (AAPD). The survey was completed by 83 Fortune 1000-size
companies, two-thirds of these companies top the Fortune 500 list. DEI
points are awarded in four major categories:
-
Culture & Leadership
-
Enterprise-wide Access
-
Employment Practices
-
Community Engagement & Support Services
By receiving a top score on the DEI, companies demonstrate significant
business leadership, going far beyond compliance activities, driving
their business success through leading disability inclusion policies and
practices.
The DEI was first introduced in 2012 and piloted in 2013-2014 with 48
companies prior to the official go-live launch of the inaugural DEI in
Fall 2014, which concluded in 2015.
