Malwarebytes Sales Grow by 75 Percent in Q1

Malwarebytes™, the cybersecurity software company that prevents and remediates malware for both people and businesses, today announced record renewals, continued large enterprise adoption and strong billings across all regions for fiscal Q1 2016, which ended April 30. In addition, the company added experienced industry leaders to board and executive positions to foster future billings growth.

Following a quarter in which Malwarebytes achieved an annualized billing rate surpassing $100 million, the company today reported continued strong growth in overall sales, with Q1 2016 sales increasing 75 percent over the comparable quarter in 2015. Overall growth was spurred by a 90 percent increase in the corporate subscription base paired with record renewals for both consumer and corporate customers.

Company executives also cited the successful launch of the Malwarebytes Breach Remediation solution as a key factor driving the near 3X increase in the largest enterprise deals.

"Enterprises continue to see the value and unique benefit of Malwarebytes solutions, and that is reflected in our earnings growth," said Marcin Kleczynski, CEO, Malwarebytes. "Malwarebytes Breach Remediation identifies and remediates all of the threat traces and malware fragments to eliminate the possibility of new cyber attacks or lateral movements that capitalize on leftover malware traces. This dynamic step forward is embraced by IT departments that want to save time, energy and man hours hunting for malware on endpoints."

Through innovative products, including the Malwarebytes Endpoint Security platform and the signature-less Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit for Business solution, the company continues its march into enterprise security installations. The platform now also offers Mac versions of its remediation technology for those businesses that run Apple (News - Alert) OS X.

"Growth in our corporate subscription base surpassed our consumer subscription growth for the first time in company history," said Mark Harris, Chief Financial Officer, Malwarebytes. "This is dynamic proof of the growing adoption of Malwarebytes Endpoint Security platform by corporations. This is further supported by a tripling of our corporate sales funnel going into our fiscal second quarter, versus the same period in 2015."

In addition to reporting the record financial quarter, Malwarebytes also plans to announce the hiring of a Chief Information Security Officer this week. The new role in Malwarebytes will be filled with an expert possessing close to 20 years of experience in advanced information, infrastructure, web and application security, as well as risk management, network engineering and design experience.

Malwarebytes continues to build an executive team and board with deep enterprise software experience. In the last quarter, Malwarebytes appointed Brooke Seawell, venture partner, NEA, and Justin Somaini, Chief Security Officer at SAP, to the Malwarebytes Board of Directors, strengthening the company's roster of advisors with extensive enterprise and business professional acumen.
