Securian Sponsors Summer of Music in St. Paul


Securian Financial Group is tuning up its support for the summer music scene in St. Paul.

Throughout the summer, free concerts on Thursday evenings at Mears Park and Friday evenings at Rice Park are being presented by Securian. The "Music in Mears" and "Rhythm in Rice" concert series began June 9 and will run every Thursday and Friday through August 26. Mears Park is located at 221 5th Street East and Rice Park is at 109 West 4th Street.

Friday, June 24 and Saturday, June 25, Securian is sponsoring the Twin (News - Alert) Cities Jazz Festival's Securian Stage at Kellogg Park (62 Kellogg Boulevard East). In its 18th year, the Twin Cities Jazz Festival is held in the Lowertown area of downtown St. Paul and is free and open to the public. Multi-platinum artist Michael Franti and his band, Spearhead, are the headline performers Saturday vening on the Securian Stage.

"We are excited to be a sponsor of the Twin Cities Jazz Festival for the first time this year and to bring wonderful music to the city Thursday and Friday evenings in Mears and Rice parks."
