Industry Deliberates Whirlwind of Ethernet Development at TEF 2016

The Ethernet Alliance, a global consortium dedicated to the continued success and advancement of Ethernet technologies, today opened the Call for Presentations (CFP) for its 2016 Technology Exploration Forum (TEF 2016), scheduled for September 29, 2016, at the Santa Clara County Convention Center. At TEF 2016: The Road to Ethernet 2026, key industry stakeholders will examine Ethernet's recent burst of activity and expansion, and deliberate challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. The day's proceedings will focus on Ethernet's intense development trajectory, as well as rapidly evolving market demands and technology challenges impacting Ethernet throughout the next 10 years. Interested parties are invited to submit session proposals by July 8, 2016.

"As Ethernet's great expansion continues to resonate through the Ethernet ecosystem, we've gained new rates, enabled application spaces, and drove advances in basic signaling technologies. Ethernet is now looking beyond the solutions and technologies initially intended for hyperscale data centers. Standards enabling enterprise networks to support the next generation of Wi-Fi are nearing completion. Ethernet is also expanding into new application spaces like industrial, automotive, and the Internet of Things (IoT)." said , chairman, Ethernet Alliance (News - Alert); and senior principal engineer, Huawei. "This is creating an ever larger and more complex Ethernet ecosystem, as there's no singular market or timeframe dictating Ethernet's future. Rather, we're seeing a myriad of emerging application-specific bandwidth trends that hold significant implications to Ethernet over the next 10 years. TEF 2016 is the ideal setting for having a meaningful dialogue on the next decade of Ethernet."

TEF 2016: The Road to Ethernet 2026 is a unique, one-day forum enabling participants to present, share, and discuss ideas. Open to the Ethernet community as a whole, the Ethernet Alliance is seeking panel and session proposals covering an array of topics, including Ethernet rates; electrical and optical signaling; future trends; and more. Proposals must be submitted no later than July 8, 2016. Detailed submission requirements and additional information are available at http://bit.ly/CFP-TEF16. A limited number of sponsorship opportunities are also available. For full details on becoming a TEF 2016: The Road to Ethernet 2026 sponsor, please visit http://bit.ly/TEF16-Sponsorships.
