Optima and Casamba Join Forces to Build National Outcomes Repository

PALM CITY, Fla. and AGOURA HILLS, Calif., June 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Optima Healthcare Solutions and Casamba LLC, the leaders in therapy management software, announced today that they plan to work together to develop a comprehensive national repository for outcomes-related therapy data. The companies believe that the repository, known as OutcomeMeasures.com, can make an important contribution to improving quality in post- acute care, and are forming a non-profit organization to administer it.

Originally launched by Optima in 2014, OutcomeMeasures.com is a repository for the collection and scoring of de-identified CARE Mobility and Self-Care Item assessments and related clinical data, which currently has over 3 million pending and submitted assessments. Working together, the companies plan to encourage their customers, who represent more than 15,000 sites of service, to contribute assessment information to OutcomeMeasures.com. To facilitate broad adoption, OutcomeMeasures.com will offer training and certifications services, and provide continuing education credits for such training. The companies hope that, as the central collection point for outcomes-related therapy data, OutcomeMeasures.com will enable benchmark reporting and clinical decision support while informing industry, regulatory and reimbursement discussions.

The companies plan to seek participation from therapy providers, industry associations, government agencies and other EHR software vendors. Interfaces to OutcomeMeasures.com allow assessment information collected in any certified EHR system to be auto-submitted to the national data repository.
