LightCyber Announces New Technology Alliance Program and Software Interface with Hewlett Packard Enterprise and Gigamon as Initial Integration Partners

New LightCyber Technology Alliance Program Provides Framework and Software API to Increase Value of Existing Security Solutions to Solve Growing Operational Challenges LOS ALTOS, Calif., and RAMAT GAN, Israel – May 24, 2016 – LightCyber, a leading provider of Behavioral Attack Detection solutions, today announced the formalized LightCyber Technology Alliance Program (LTAP) and the extensibility of its platform with a new software interface to promote swift and efficient detection and response processes by working with other security, networking, application and IT solutions. The program and new software Application Program Interface (API) increase the value of a customer’s investments in their existing security solutions by promoting better interoperability—from data ingest, through attack detection, to remediation and response.

HPE and Gigamon are the first partnerships announced as part of the formalized program and new API, while the Check Point Technologies and Palo Alto Networks integration was built previously. The emphasis of LTAP is to facilitate interoperability with other important products or technologies; to create or utilize APIs enabling necessary communication and functionality; to educate about joint solutions and capabilities; and to promote best practices and streamline implementation. LTAP enables security teams to make their operations more effective and efficient by tying other security tools closer to the Magna platform for sharing information and enacting responses.

Through LTAP, the LightCyber Magna platform interoperates with a broad ecosystem of products. Initially there are nine technology areas that current and future partners participate, including: • Firewalls, Web Gateways • Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) Systems • Visibility Platforms • Virtual Private Networks (VPN) • Virtualization • Cloud Applications, Platforms and Infrastructure • Network Access Control (NAC) • IT Workflow and IT Service Management (ITSM) • Authentication “Customers have invested significant resources in their existing networking, security, threat prevention and incident response infrastructure that they want to leverage for optimal security posture,” said Jason Matlof, executive vice president, LightCyber. “We create a win-win for the customer by leveraging these existing assets while also enhancing the role that Magna plays in the broader detection and response process. In turn, the Magna platform benefits from capabilities in our LTAP partners’ products.” SIEM Integration for Reporting and Investigation LightCyber is a member of the HPE Technology Alliance Partner Program, and LightCyber Magna is now certified to interoperate with the HPE ArcSight ESM Security Information and Event Management (SIEM). LightCyber Magna identifies potentially suspicious behavior and shares the details with HPE Security ArcSight for investigation and remediation. The joint solution helps customers identify and respond to attackers and malware that are active inside the network.

Visibility Platform Integration for Intelligent Network Access Magna is integrated with the Gigamon GigaSECURE Security Delivery Platform to optimize the intelligent delivery of select network traffic to the LightCyber Magna Platform, and is a member of the Gigamon Ecosystem Partners Program.

“LightCyber and Gigamon have partnered to leverage the GigaSECURE Security Delivery Platform to simply and efficiently direct network traffic to the LightCyber appliance for passive monitoring,” said Phil Griston of Gigamon. “The LTAP program shares its goals with our WeFightSmart campaign in helping to educate customers on the joint value that can be achieved when security technologies collaborate in ensuring the success of our joint customers.” Firewall Integration for Extended Remediation and Incident Response Magna integrates with Check Point Next Generation Threat Prevention Solutions and Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Firewalls for extended remediation capabilities to isolate compromised endpoints and block identified command and control channels. Magna also uses the Check Point and Palo Alto Networks APIs to modify firewall policy. Blocked traffic is uniquely identified in Check Point or Palo Alto Networks security events, and LightCyber blocking rules are viewable within the Palo Alto Networks Application Command Center and Check Point SmartView Monitor application.

“Behavioral Attack Detection fits well with our real time multi-layered prevention against cyberattacks through our Next Generation Threat Prevention solutions,” said Alon Kantor, vice president of business development, Check Point. “Working together with LightCyber through LTAP produces extended value for enterprise customers pursuing the highest level of security.” “We are pleased to team with LightCyber on this technology integration,” said Marc Benoit, vice president of technical business development, Palo Alto Networks. "The combination of LightCyber behavioral attack detection with the cyber breach prevention capabilities of our Next-Generation Security Platform provide invaluable insight on anomalous user and entity activity.” LightCyber Magna Extensible API for Technology Integration To extend the Magna platform, LightCyber is introducing its first REST-ful API to enable partners, customers and integrators to interact with the rich information and functionality available from Magna. The API initially supports three key use cases: 1. Trigger Magna to perform a targeted investigation of an endpoint about which a third party product has raised suspicion 2. Gather information that Magna has on a specific endpoint or machine for integrated analysis 3. Pull all alert and threat information from Magna for import or analysis in a third party tool for reporting or investigation purposes The API and associated documentation and examples are available immediately on the LTAP Information section of the LightCyber website and will greatly extend the ability of partners and customers to customize and integrate Magna with their security ecosystem and workflows. LightCyber will introduce other APIs as necessary to meet customer needs. Magna also supports some existing public and vendor APIs for integration with SIEMs, next generation firewalls and authentication systems.
