Boeing Includes AstroNova's ToughWriter 5® in Catalog for B737NG and B737 MAX Aircraft
Astro-Med (News - Alert), Inc., d/b/a AstroNova (NASDAQ: ALOT), today announced that
its ToughWriter 5 airborne high-speed printer has been selected for
inclusion in the Boeing (News - Alert) catalog for the B737 Next-Generation (B737NG)
and new B737 MAX aircraft families. Shipments are scheduled to begin in
calendar year 2017, pending certification by Boeing.
"We are excited to expand our relationship with Boeing, the world's
largest aerospace company," said Gregory A. Woods, AstroNova's President
and Chief Executive Officer. "Inclusion in the Boeing catalog positions
the ToughWriter 5 prominently for carriers expanding their fleet or
replacing older aircraft. In fact, a major U.S. carrier recently
selected the ToughWriter 5 for its B737 MAX fleet. The broader
visibility our products receive as catalog-offered equipment serves as a
catalyst for orders, enabling us to reach a wider customer base and
drive sales growth."
The ToughWriter 5 is the newest member of AstroNova's airborne printer
family and the world's smallest and lightest flight deck printer. At
less than 9 pounds and just 7.3 inches deep, the ToughWriter 5 meets the
commercial transport aircraft demands for efficient design without
sacrificing quality or capability.
The ToughWriter 5 is used in the flight deck of an aircraft to print
ground communications, weather maps, approach plates, airport diagrams
and other critical flight information. The printer also can be installed
in the cabin of commercial aircraft, allowing crew and passengers to
print maintenance data, receipts and passenger manifests.
