Gurucul Names Steve Moscarelli Vice President of Sales to Tap Fast Growing Market for Identity-based Security

Gurucul, the user behavior analytics and identity access intelligence company, today announced the appointment of security industry veteran Steve Moscarelli as Vice President of Sales. For over 20 years, Steve has successfully led sales efforts for leading security vendors, including Check Point Software, Qualys, Sourcefire (Cisco (News - Alert)), Port Authority (Websense) and startups Tufin Technologies and Attivo Networks.

"We're extremely pleased that Steve has joined our executive management team as Vice President of Sales," said Saryu Nayyar, CEO of Gurucul. "He has a proven track record for building high performance sales teams and consistently growing revenues for both established and startup security vendors. Steve's leadership skills and C-level relationships will help Gurucul aggressively capture new market share based on our unique ability to both reduce a company's identity attack surface and detect insider and account compromise threats across both on-premises and cloud infrastructures."

Steve Moscarelli joined Gurucul from network security vendor Attivo Networks. As Vice President of Sales, he established Tufin Americas and grew the company's customer bas from eight to over 400. He has also held senior sales and channel management positions at Check Point Software, Qualys, Sourcefire (Cisco) and PortAuthority (Websense (News - Alert)). Steve is a long time member of the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA), and currently serves as President of the New England chapter.

"The future of enterprise security will be based on using machine learning to detect threats across hybrid datacenter and cloud environments that appear to be legitimate behavior. The Gurucul user behavior analytics platform provides these advanced capabilities and distinguishes itself from traditional UBA products by using identity access intelligence to also eliminate risks within a company's identity attack surface," said Steve Moscarelli. "Given Gurucul's ability to detect insider threats, account compromise and data exfiltration that evade other security defenses, it's not surprising the company has established a blue-chip customer base. I look forward to building out Gurucul's sales team and infrastructure to capture a significant share of the UBA market in North America."
